For an engagement session taken this past winter, Kelsi, Ian and I went to the Walper Terrace for an afternoon. The Terrace had a cool 1920's piano bar theme that fit really well with the atmosphere Kelsi and Ian were looking for.

There were a lot of really neat spaces to use for photos, particularly when you want a themed photo shoot! There were so many unique elements of this space that were rich with character, and offered a classic vintage feel to the photos, including the mirror, elevator, piano, and orange leather couch.
In this photo, I loved that the elements of the scene helped create so much of the mood... like the dog in the corner! I'm not usually into statues, but this guy seems to add a little something extra. I thought about moving him out of the shot, but ended up being really pleased with part of his body there.

I like the next three elevator photos because of the atmosphere created by Kelsi and Ian. The walls were very yellow and In any other circumstance I would have found that tricky to work around, but since we were trying to achieve a vintage look in the photos, I found the yellow cast to be really appropriate! I love the progression of these photos, from looking at each other across the elevator, to a 'near-kiss' while the elevator doors are closing.

These next two shots were fun for me because of the way they highlighted the details of our shoot... cool aspects of the location as well as their hats, her accessories, and her ring that marks their engagement - the reason we were there in the first place!
